Women's Tennis Set for NECC Tournament

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – For the third straight season, the Lesley University women's tennis team is headed to the New England Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament. The Lynx, who finished with an even 5-5 NECC record, earned the No. 3 seed and will travel on Saturday to Becker College for a Semifinal tilt with the second-seeded Hawks.

Regis College, with an undefeated conference record of 10-0, has earned the top seed in the tournament and will host No. 4 Bay Path University in the other Semifinal match.

Becker earned the No. 2 seed with a 7-3 record and topped the Lynx by identical 5-4 scores in each of their regular season meetings.

Lynx sophomores Caroline Kiddie (Scituate, Mass.) and Theresa Pereira (Hopedale, Mass.) have led Lesley in the two previous matchups, earning wins in both singles and doubles while junior Frances De Leon (Murrieta, Calif.) is undefeated in No. 2 doubles against the Hawks. De Leon teamed up with senior Rosie Heller (State College, Pa.) to earn a 9-7 win back on September 23rd before partnering with junior Diana Watson (Acton, Mass.) to win 8-6 on October 8th.

The two teams have never faced each other in postseason play.
