CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University women's tennis team will look to regain their fantastic 2014 form this season as head coach Shawna Sarson has announced the 2015 schedule for the Lynx.
"We're looking to build upon last year's success and capitalize on the girl's work ethic and enthusiasm for the game," said Sarson, who is in her first season as head coach following three seasons as an assistant with the program. "As we look to grow, I'll be counting on our returning players to help lead the team after losing a great group of seniors to graduation."
The Lynx finished 2014 as the New England Collegiate Conference runners-up with an 11-4 overall record, including a 6-2 mark in NECC play. Caroline Kiddie (Scituate, Mass.) was named NECC Rookie of the Year while Carlyn Barker (Temecula, Calif.) and 2015 graduate Carissa Iverson (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) were also All-Conference players.
The 2015 season will begin with four of the opening six matches taking place at home for the Lynx and will open on Thursday, September 3rd when they host Wentworth at the Nicholas Athletics Center.
Matches at Suffolk and Eastern Nazarene will sandwich a home contest against Anna Maria College before the Lynx open New England Collegiate Conference play with a rematch of the 2014 conference final versus Regis College on Saturday, September 12th.
Lesley will play ten NECC matches on the season as they look to capture their first NECC Championship in program history.
