Lesley University men's and women's head tennis coach, Doug Eng, joined Glenn Whitney and www.SportsCoachRadio.com for a podcast about his experiences both as a tennis coach and his expertise in mental and physical training.
Eng, who was with the United States Olympic Committee's Doc Counsilman Award in June, given to a coach who utilizes scientific techniques and equipment as an integral part of their coaching methods, is one of ten people worldwide designated a Master Professional by the Professional Tennis Registry(PTR) and the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA).
A highly respected member of the tennis community, Eng has completed the USTA High Performance Coaching Program and has written over 70 tennis articles, including those for tennisplayer.net and tennisone.com, mostly on analysis of techniques and tactics. Eng also has expertise in coaching theory, having trained or certified over 1,000 coaches for PTR and USTA.
In addition to his coaching duties, Eng is also a professor of Sport Management and Sport Psychology here at Lesley.
