THE LEAD – The Lynx hosted Husson University in a critical conference matchup. Both Lesley and Husson had a 4-0 conference record heading into the matchup, which Lesley won 4-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lesley got a goal on the board early in the match when Sage Henry sent the ball to the back of the net off a cross pass from Abby Kalou.
- Five minutes later Kalou sent a long strike in to give Lesley a 2-0 lead.
- Husson's Natalie Aviolla got control of a rebounded ball giving Husson their first goal of the match.
- The score remained 2-1 headed into the second half. In the 47th minute of the match Husson's Lindsey Russel took on two Lynx defenders, firing one off to the back of the net.
- Lynx goalkeeper Lolo Lacy made a critical 1v1 stop in the net, keeping Husson tied 2-2.
- Naya Sellas sent in a long strike for Lesley, saved by Madison Weigler, allowing Henry to snag the rebound and tack on another goal for Lesley.
- In the 66th minute Henry recorded a third goal on the match, off a pass up field from Chase Livesey.
