Rubin, Turnbull, Mitchell Named to All-New England Team

Cambridge, Mass-- The Lesley Univeristy women's soccer team had three players named to the 2017 All New England Third Team as announced by the The New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association Thursday December 14.  Seniors Karlie Rubin and Samantha Turnbull, along with Junior Jordan Mitchell represented the 2017 NECC Champions in Lesley on the All New England Team.

This recognition capped off a remarkable senior season for Rubin, who was most recently named to the United Soccer Coaches Association Division III All-New England Region Third Team.  Rubin was also named the NECC Player of the Year and placed on the All-Conference First Team.  She tallied 13 goals and 7 assists this season with a total of 33 points.

Turnbull led the Lynx defense to the NECC Championship Title and was the anchor behind a 16 shutout season.  Turnbull was named the NECC Tournament MVP after the Lynx didn't allow a goal all post season.  She was the only other Lynx member named to the NECC All-Conference First team.

In Mitchell's junior season she recorded 12 goals and 8 assists, tallying 32 points on the year.  She was second in goals behind Rubin and led her team in assists.  Mitchell was named to the NECC All-Conference Second team, her third season recognized by the conference.

"We are thrilled to have three All-New England selections, this is a great honor for the players and our program," said head coach Paul Vasconcelos.
