Rubin, Pochobradsky Net 2 in 7-0 Win

Cambridge, Mass— Lesley Women's Soccer extended its five game win streak against Mitchell College Wednesday evening at Edwards Field.  The 7-0 win put the Lynx at 6-0 in NECC conference play and 12-2-2 overall.  The Mariners slip to 1-9-1 overall and 0-5-1 in the NECC.

Lesley netted 5 goals in the first forty-five minutes and kept the pressure on the Mariner defense.  The Lynx displayed a strong defensive front not allowing one shot on goal the entire first half, and only one shot in the second half.

A deflected ball off a Mariner defender found Junior Kai Morehead (Oxnard, CA) at the top of the eighteen for the first goal of the match.  Eight minutes later Senior Sarah Pochobradsky (Rotterdam, NY) dribbled in front of the net and tapped it in the bottom right corner for the second goal.

Senior Karlie Rubin (San Diego, CA) continued the offensive attack with two goals in two minutes to give the Lynx a four nil advantage.  Junior Maddie Whipple (Claremont, NH) snuck a ball to the right corner of the box where Rubin was able to one touch it past the goalie for her first of the night.  Minutes later she blasted one to the top right corner leaving the Mariner goaltender with no chance at the save. With just five minutes left in the first half, Rubin than set up Whipple for the last goal of the half.

Katelyn Scott (Glendora, CA) kicked off the scoring just five minutes into the second half.  Sam Ring (Thousand Oaks, CA) chipped a ball into the box when Scott got the loose ball and headed it past the goalie.  Pochobradsky followed up with her second goal of the match to get the Lynx to the final score of 7-0.

The Lynx next travel to Regis College tomorrow evening.  This will be the third match in three days for Lesley.
