Rubin Continues to Lead Women's Soccer

Cambridge, Mass-  Lesley University Women's soccer team extends their win streak with a non-conference victory at Fitchburg State.  Senior Karlie Rubin, week 1 and 2 NECC Conference Player of the Week, continued to pace the Lynx offense scoring both goals of the 2-0 win.  The Lynx sit at 3-1-1 while the Falcons drop to 1-3.

Lesley potted the only score of the first frame. Freshman Sam Ring streaking down the right wing delivered a perfect pass to Rubin at the left post for the senior's fourth goal of the season. Twenty minutes into the second half, Rubin struck again, this time off a pass from sophomore Katelyn Scott (Glendora, Calif.).

The Lynx outshot the Falcons 15-4 in the match, and Lily Donovan (Newburyport, Mass.) and Jill Narby (Huntington, NY) combined for the 2 save shutout.

Brittny Peralta (Leominster, Mass.) and McKenzie Tenney (Orange, Mass.) had the only shots on goal for Fitchburg State University, and Freshman Sarah Hemmings (Eastham, Mass.) made five saves in the loss.

This was the sixth meeting between Fitchburg State and Lesley on the pitch with the Falcons 2-4-0 when facing the Lynx. Lesley has won the previous three contest with Fitchburg State, although Fitchburg State won first meeting in the series with Lesley.

Lesley next hosts Suffolk University on Thursday night at 8:00pm.
