KANSAS CITY – For the fourth consecutive season, the Lesley University women's soccer team has been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as a Silver Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award recipient.

The award recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards that are accumulated throughout the season.

"To have the success we've had and to be recognized by the NSCAA for our sportsmanship is a testament to the character of our young women," said head coach Paul Vasconcelos.

A total of 84 collegiate programs across all three divisions of the NCAA were recognized by with the Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze Awards. Fifteen teams were recipients of the Gold Award, which is given to teams with a percentage of cards ranging from 1-10%. A total of 43 teams claimed the Silver Award, which is given to teams that accumulate a percentage of cards ranging from 11-30%, while the Bronze Award went to 17 teams, which is presented to teams that accumulate a percentage of cards ranging from 31-50%.

The Lynx amassed six cards in 21 matches this past season to accumulate a percentage of 29%.

Lesley and the Southern Vermont College women's soccer team were the only recipients from the New England Collegiate Conference.
