ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Six members of the Lesley University women's soccer team have been named to the New England Collegiate Conference All-Conference Teams. Senior Hayley Wirth (Escondido, Calif.), junior Julie Essick (Boerne, Texas), and freshman Jordan Mitchell (Sachse, Texas) were each placed on the NECC First Team while freshman Samantha Bessey (Algonquin, Ill.) and senior Jennifer Collins (Edison, N.J.) were each named to the Second Team. Senior Isabella Vidaña (San Marcos, Calif.) was placed on the inaugural NECC Sportsmanship Team.

In addition to the six student-athletes being honored, head coach Paul Vasconcelos has been voted as the conference Coach of the Year. Vasconcelos led the program to the fifth NECC title in program history this past Saturday and holds a career record of 138-35-11. This marks the sixth time he has received the honor.

Wirth turned in a career-season in her senior campaign. Despite moving to center back, the two-time NECC First-Teamer potted a career-high six goals and two assists for 14 total points. She also helped anchor a backline that allowed just one goal in NECC play. The senior was also named the Most Valuable Player of the 2015 NECC Tournament for the second time in her career.

Essick is making her first appearance on the All-Conference team after posting career-highs in goals (6), assists (7), and points (19).

Mitchell finished tied for fourth in the NECC with 30 total points while leading the Lynx with ten goals and ten assists and also strung together nine straight matches in which she record at least one point.

Bessey had a flare for the dramatic in her rookie season as she deposited game-winning goals against Tufts in overtime and against Elms in the NECC Championship match on Saturday. The freshman forward was second on the team in goals with seven and also dished out three assists on the year.

In her first season as a starter, Collins was excellent on the backline for the Lynx. The senior helped limit opponents to just 12 goals scored in 21 matches, including just one tally in conference play.

Vidaña, who served as a co-captain in her senior season, was named to the inaugural NECC All-Sportsmanship Team.

The Lynx wrapped up their fourth consecutive NECC Championship, their fifth overall in program history, and await the announcement of their First Round opponent.
