Landerholm, Sanchez, Wirth Named NSCAA Scholars

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University seniors Hannah Landerholm (Edmonds, Wash.) and Jasmine Sanchez (Chino, Calif.) and junior Hayley Wirth (Escondido, Calif.) have each been honored by the National Soccer Coach Association of America as they have been named 2014 Scholar All-East Region selections. Landerholm was named to the Second Team while Sanchez earned Third team honors while Wirth was named an Honorable Mention.

The award recognizes select collegiate student-athletes as 2014 NSCAA Scholar All-Americans for their dual accomplishments on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his or her career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team.

This marks the second consecutive year that Landerholm has earned the honor as she was placed on the Second Team in 2013 while this is the first time for both Sanchez and Wirth to be placed on the Scholar All-East Team.

The trio have welcomed numerous awards following Lesley's historic season that saw the Lynx capture their third straight New England Collegiate Conference title and trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Landerholm was previously named NECC Player of the Year, NECC First Team All-Conference, NSCAA All-Region First Team, and New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association First Team. Sanchez has also taken home a variety of awards as she was named NECC First Team All-Conference and NSCAA All-Region Second Team. Wirth was also an NECC First Team selection.
