Landerholm, Giusti, Apgar Honored by NSCAA

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Following their second consecutive New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship and trip the NCAA Division III Championship, three Lesley University women's soccer players have been honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Junior Hannah Landerholm (Edmonds, Wash.) was named to the NSCAA New England All-Region First Team while classmate Alexis Giusti (Meridian, Calif.) and senior Sarah Apgar (Andover, N.J.) were each named to the NSCAA New England All-Region Second Team.

Landerholm, who was named 2013 NECC Player of the Year and placed on the All-Conference First Team, had a fantastic junior campaign in which she found the back of the net 11 times while helping out on one other. The midfielder had a flare for the dramatic as seven of her 11 goals served as game-winners. She had two multi-goal games on the season, registering two tallies in a win over Wheelock College while scoring the first hat trick of her career in the opening seven minutes in a win over Becker College.

Giusti, a 2013 NECC All-Conference First Teamer, led Lesley's powerful offense as she buried 13 goals to go with her seven assists on the year. The forward had marks in 12 of the Lynx' 21 games, including the overtime game-winner in the 1-0 win over Elms in the NECC Championship game. Giusti also scored the lone goal for the Lynx in the NCAA Tournament.

Apgar, who was also named to the NECC All-Conference First Team, was the leader of a stout defense that yielded just 11 goals all season long. The tri-captain also chipped in in the offensive zone, registering three goals and three assists on the year. The senior wrapped up an impressive career leading the Lynx to a 56-14-7 record during her tenure.
