Landerholm Named Player of the Year, Four Others Honored

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley's Hannah Landerholm (Edmonds, Wash.) has been named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Year. NECC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations, Robb Modica, made the announcement this afternoon.

The junior midfielder registered nine goals in nine conference games this season while her 11 total goals was good enough for third in the NECC. Landerholm finished the season with 23 total points while leading the Lynx to their second consecutive NECC title.

Joining Landerholm on the First Team was junior forward Alexis Giusti (Meridian, Calif.) and senior defender Sarah Apgar (Andover, N.J.).

Giusti registered a team-high 12 goals, seven assists, and 31 points on the front line for the Lynx. Her six goals and 17 points in nine conference games was the third-most in the NECC. This marks the second straight season Giusti has been named to the First Team.

Apgar anchored Lesley's top-ranked defense that allowed just a single goal in nine NECC regular season matches. The senior tri-captain started 19 of 20 games, tallying three goals and three assists for nine total points. This is the second time Apgar has been named to the All-Conference team, earning Honorable Mention honors in 2011.

Junior Marysol Flores (Pico Rivera, Calif.) was named to the NECC Second Team. In her first season with the Lynx, the junior registered three goals and three assists in conference play and finished the season with four goals and four assists.

Senior defender Taylor Smith (Sandy Hook, Conn.) earned NECC Honorable Mention accolades. The senior helped a backline that allowed just seven goals in twenty matches. This is the second time Smith has been named to the NECC All-Conference team, earning First Team honors in 2012.
