CHICOPEE, MA -- Lesley University avenged its loss in last year's New England Collegiate Conference Championship with a 4-0 victory over host Elms College Saturday afternoon in NECC women's soccer play.

Junior Sarah Apgar gave the Lynx a 1-0 lead, a score that held until halftime, after which the Lynx broke the game open.

Off a Veronica Halen free kick, Alexis Giusti's diving header doubled the lead to 2-0 out of the intermission. From there, Halen took over in distancing the visitors. The team's leading scorer converted on a free kick from 20 yards and later added an insurance goal to seal the 4-0 win.

Since falling behind 1-0 in the team's NECC opener at Southern Vermont, Lesley has outscored conference opponents 31-0.

Lesley continues its NECC slate at Mitchell College on Wednesday at 3:30.
