Women's soccer team loses in OT

WATERVILLE, Me. - Thomas College needed an overtime and a hat trick from Karen Demers (Sanford, Me.) in order to finally put Lesley University away.  Lesley University who has never beaten or even tied Thomas in the school's history was just nine minutes away from doing that when Demers buried the game winner off of a Heather Tatham (Manchester, N.H.) assist.

Led by Catherine Folkstead (Ipswitch, Mass.) and Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) the Lady Lynx kept a steady stream of shots on the Thomas keeper.  Folkstead and Fralick each had four shots on goal.  Sarah Wedge (Londenderry, N.H.) once again kept the Lynx close with outstanding keeper play as she had seven saves in net.

Fralick did all of the Lynx scoring with two goals.  Fralick's goals couldn't have been better timed.  Both goals knotted the game up when she scored them.  The first came in the 24th minute following Demers's first goal and the second came in the 80th minute and sent the game to overtime.

The Lynx battled hard in the extra frame but came up short when Demers knocked down her third goal of the game.

The Lynx travel to the University of Maine at Farmington for another NAC conference game.  For more information on the Lady Lynx soccer team please go to their website.
