Women's soccer downs Pine Manor 7-0

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University women's soccer team made a statement last night against Pine Manor College.  They collectively said as a team that this going to be a completely different season with far different results.  The Lady Lynx opened their 2006 season with a 7-0 win over Pine Manor College.

After an extremely disappointing 2005 season the Lady Lynx welcome a new Head Coach, Alison Bimba and many young and talented recruits.  The change was apparent to everyone who was present at BB&N to witness the display put on by the Lady Lynx.

One of Lesley's star recruits Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) led the way for the Lady Lynx.  In her collegiate debut Fralick scored four goals and had an assist in only 64 minutes of play.  Fellow freshman Lauren Polinsky (Palo Alto, Calif. ) came off of the bench and added two goals of her own.  Sophomore Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.) contributed a goal of her own in the 64th minute.

Although everyone who witnessed the game would insist that it was a huge accomplishment especially after last year's 3-1 loss to Pine Manor Coach Bimba was a little more grounded after the game.  "A score of a game doesn't tell you how good a team is, just that they played well together.  I think we did a lot right but maybe more wrong, tonight's game just set the foundation to how much work we have to do."

One thing for certain after last night's game is that this is a very different team with a lot of youth and talent.  For more information on the Lady Lynx soccer team please go to their website.
