Lesley competes at Head of the Charles

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - This past weekend, the Lesley University crew team competed in the world's largest fall rowing race.  The Head of the Charles took place all Saturday and Sunday, with the Lynx squad racing on Saturday afternoon.

The Lesley rowing team competed in the College 4 event and had a strong showing.  Jackie Barnes (Ridgefield, Conn.) steer a beautiful course down the challenging Charles River.  Rowers Kate Buckley (South Glastonbury, Conn.), Jackie Gurgui (Lake Katrine, N.Y.), Becca Koval (Sherman, Conn.), and Siobhan Pierce (Cambridge, Mass.) pushed themselves to the limit, ending up with a time of 23:19 behind the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Lesley rowers were very appreciative of all the support they received this weekend from professors, fellow athletes, parents, and other Lesley faculty and students.  The fall season is coming to a close, and the rowers will son head to the gym for winter training before heading off to South Carolina for Spring Training in March.
