SHELTON, Conn. - The Lesley University women's crew team raced at the Head of the Housatonic Regatta in Shelton, CT this past weekend.

The women's novice 4 beat out Amherst College Rowing Association with a fast time of 24:06.

The lightweight 4 had a strong fifth place finish against local competition including the University of Massachusetts and Community Rowing, Inc.  The lightweight 4 consisted of rowers Kate Buckley (South Glastonbury, Conn.), Siobhan Pierce (Cambridge, Mass.), Alice Bloomer (Riverside, Conn.), Sheila Thompson (Plymouth, Mass.), and Carrie Morris (Rochester, Mass.).  The boat finished with a time of 22:14.

Although the Open 8 finished in last place, the combined group of novice and varsity gained important head racing experience and had a strong time of 21:43.
