LOWELL, Mass. - In their first fall race of the season, the Lesley University women's crew team competed at the Textile River Regatta.

The lightweight 4 had a strong third place finish with a time of 31:45.  The four was made up of Jackie Barnes (Ridgefield, Conn.), Kate Buckley (South Glastonbury, Conn.), Becca Koval (Sherman, Conn.), Siobhan Pierce (Cambridge, Mass.), and Alice Bloomer (Riverside, Conn., coxswain).

The novice 4 competed strongly after only a week on the water and finished ahead of Massachusetts Maritime Academy for a seventh place finish.  The rowers in the novice 4 were Jackie Gurgui (Lake Katrine, N.Y.), Miriam Fagan (Cambridge, Mass.), Victoria Cleaver (Merrimac, Mass.), Alice Bloomer, and Claudia Chauca (Revere, Mass., coxswain).

Both the open A and B fours finished at the bottom of the pack after a long day of racing on the 3-mile long course.
