Crew's Erg-A-Thon a success

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After conducting their recent Erg-A-Thon on February 29-March 1, the Lesley University crew team raised enough money to help fund their spring training trip down to South Carolina next week.

The team went on shifts throughout the 24 hours to keep two ergs moving.  Each team member was estimated to have erged for about three to four hours total.

The girls raised over $2,000 before the Erg-A-Thon by asking for sponsors and raised an additional $200 from donations throughout the night.  During the Erg-A-Thon, the team had a small bake sale, sold popcorn, and asked for donations from anyone who passed through the Student Center.

"We really appreciated all the support from students, faculty, and staff," commented Head Coach Kate McGravey. "I was impressed with the number of students who donated towards our cause."

The crew team's spring training will take place from March 7-14 at Camp Bob Cooper, SC.  Once they return, the team will begin a challenging spring season against some highly reputable opponents.
