Lynx Shooting Struggles Continue Against Mitchell

GAME OVERVIEW:

MEDFORD, MA. -- The Lesley Women's Basketball team could not keep up with the Mitchell College Mariners on Wednesday night, falling 104-54. The Lynx drop to 2-16 overall and 0-4 in the conference, while the Mariners advance to 9-12 this season and 1-3 in the NECC.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Mariners came out strong, putting up 35 points in the first quarter. Amina Wiley put up ten points while Le'Sandra Turner scored eight. Sydnie Drezek staretd off hot for the Lynx as well, scoring nine points on three-for-three shooting, including two three pointers.
  • Mitchell's biggest advantages came on the offensive glass and on turnovers. The Mariners collected 22 offensive rebounds for 22 second chance points and forced 29 Lynx turnovers that led to 31 more points. They also dominated the paint, scoring 56 points down low, led by Wiley's 20. Turner and Dede Stevenson were also big factors the Mariners win, scoring 16 points each.
  • Drezek led the Lynx with fourteen points, while Kizziah Ruff added 13 and Alexandra Kerley, Raven Premont, and Hillary Berry all had eight.
