Early Struggles Down Lynx Against Wentworth

GAME OVERVIEW:

MEDFORD, MA. -- The Lesley Women's Basketball team could not overcome early struggles as they fell to the Wentworth Leopards 61-44 on Wednesday night. The Lynx drop to 2-10 overall this season, while the Leopards advance to 2-7.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Lynx fell too far behind to overcome in the first half, as Wentworth took a 15 point lead into halftime. Though they were only down by two after the first quarter, Lesley could only score six points in the second and committed ten turnovers. Kayla Kelley's eight points in that quarter put the Leopards ahead.
  • The second half was a much more even affair, with Alexandra Kerley scoring ten of her team-high fourteen points in the final two quarters. She was matched with fifteen by Nattaly David off the Wentworth bench to help her team hold their lead.
  • Kerley delivered a double-double for the Lynx, scoring fourteen and grabbing twelve rebounds to maintain her NECC lead in total boards. Kizziah Ruff had ten points and seven rebounds for the Lynx, while Sydnie Drezek had six and nine. Raven Premont impressed defensively once again off the bench, securing a career high six steals to rocket herself to the top of the NECC total steals leaderboard with 31, just two ahead of Ruff in second place.
  • David was the Leopards' leader with 23 points, while Kelley finished with 20. No other Leopard had more than six points, but they locked in on defense to force 23 Lynx turnovers
