GAME OVERVIEW:

MEDFORD, MA. -- The Lesley Women's Basketball team picked up a big 71-65 win against the Maine-Fort Kent Bengals on Sunday afternoon. The Lynx advance to 2-4 overall this season, while the Bengals fall to 0-4.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

• The Bengals got out to a fast start in the first quarter, forcing Lesley to make some defensive adjustments that carried them through the rest of the game. Arieyle Baker was the focal point of the Fort Kent offense in the first quarter, scoring ten points, mostly in the paint. Fort Kent shot 58.8% in the first quarter on their way to a 23-10 lead.
• Lesley battled back in the second quarter, led by Alexandra Kerley. Kerley flipped the script on Fort Kent, limiting Baker to only four points while picking up 8 points and 8 rebounds of her own in the quarter alone. The Lynx were also locked in on defense, forcing eight turnovers. Raven Premont picked up two of her five steals in the second quarter.
• After Fort Kent took a four point lead into halftime, the Lynx were able to eliminate it and head into the fourth tied at 47. Sheyla Aguilar got the Bengals out to an 8 point lead early in the quarter, but Jordan Blair was able to deliver two huge three-point shots to tie the game and McKenna Rodrgiuez made two clutch free throws to close the quarter tied.
• Sydnie Drezek and Kizziah Ruff both caught fire in the fourth, with Drezek scoring twelve points and Ruff adding six with four rebounds to pull ahead quickly and maintain a lead through the fourth quarter to close it out.
• Three-point shooting was key for Lesley in this one, as they shot 31.8% compared to the Bengals' 14.3%. Lesley also had an advantage in second chance points, outscoring Fort Kent 15-4 off of offensive rebounds. Hillary Berry led both teams with four offensive boards.
• Drezek led the Lynx with 24 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Kerley and Ruff both had double-doubles, with Kerleys scoring 13 points and securing 13 rebounds and Ruff scoring 17 with 11 rebounds. Premont totaled 5 steals on the day, putting her second in the NECC in total steals. Kerley remainst the conference leader in rebounds, while Drezek is second in points per game.
