Lynx Fall in First Game of USJ Tip-Off Tournament

GAME OVERVIEW:

WEST HARTFORD, CT. -- The Lesley Women's Basketball team lost the first game of the USJ Tip-Off Tournament on Friday night, falling 75-42 to Saint Joseph (CT). The Lynx fall to 0-3 on the season, while the Blue Jays' first one puts them at 1-2.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Blue Jays put the Lynx out of it in the first quarter by only giving up five points. The Lynx only made two shots in the first, getting down to a quick 21-5 defecit. Olivia Heslin paced USJ with six points, while Jelly Frigo added five from the bench.
  • Lesley played better in the second half, but could not recover from USJ's 43-17 halftime lead. Alexandra Kerley had ten points and seven rebounds in the second half, but Amanda Fudge matched her with eleven points for the Blue Jays.
  • Kerley led the team with 12 points and 12 rebounds. She ranks second in the NECC with 10 rebounds per game. Kizziah Ruff had her best game of her freshman season, scoring 12 points, while Sydnie Drezek added 8. Fudge led USJ with 13 points, while Heslin and Maya Slisz added twelve each and Slisz collected 11 rebounds.
