CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University freshman Dakota Jones (Torrance, Calif.) has been recognized as the New England Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week, announced today by Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Rebecca Mullen. This is the second time in her rookie campaign Jones has been honored with the award as she was also recognized back on November 21, 2016.
Jones averaged a double-double in a 1-1 week for the Lynx to open up the second semester of play while notching her sixth double-double of the year in a win over Green Mountain College.

Dakota Jones, Lesley (Fr., F, Torrance, Calif.) - Jones continued her terrific rookie campaign with two big games after the New Year. She opened 2017 with a monster performance in a win over Green Mountain where she scored 16 points to go along with a career-high 19 rebounds, four steals, and one block. Jones followed that effort with eight points and ten boards at Becker. For the week, she averaged 12 points and 14.5 rebounds per game.
