ATTLEBORO, Mass. – After the first week of her collegiate career, Lesley University freshman Dakota Jones (Torrance, Calif.) has been named New England Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week, announced today by NECC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Rebecca Mullen.

Jones made an immediate impact on the floor for the Lynx, posting double-doubles against both Lyndon State College and Eastern Nazarene College last week.

NECC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Dakota Jones, Lesley (Fr., F, Torrance, Calif.) - Jones posted a double-double in each of her first two games of her collegiate career. The rookie opened her campaign with 11 points and 12 rebounds (seven offensive) to go with one steal and one block against Lyndon State before following up with a 15-points, 12 rebound performance against Eastern Nazarene. Jones was efficient on the offensive end as well, totaling a 64.7% shooting percentage in the pair of games.
