CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University junior Ari Dimou (Manchester, N.H.) registered a team-high 16 points to go with her seven rebounds and six assists to lead the Lynx past Bay Path University 67-58 in New England Collegiate Conference action tonight at the Nicholas Athletics Center. The win avenges a loss to the Wildcats on Monday as the teams split the season series 1-1. Lesley improves to 2-22 on the season and 2-15 in the NECC with the win while Bay Path falls to 5-16 overall and 5-12 in conference action.

Three other Lynx joined Dimou in double-figures as freshman Kelsey Lynch (Rumford, R.I.) recorded the first double-double of 11 points and a career-high 10 rebounds. Classmate Kerry Flaherty (Woburn, Mass.) dumped in 12 points and seven boards and sophomore Hannah Levensailor (Ayer, Mass.) added a career-high ten points and three assists. Senior Anthea Rathjens (Sudbury, Mass.) and sophomore Emily Meade (Derry, N.H.) each chipped in with eight points while Rathjens led all players with 12 rebounds.

Bay Path sophomore Aaliyah Gordon (Springfield, Mass.) posted a game-high 21 points to go with three steals and two blocks on the defensive end. Classmate Frankie Wauneka (Easthampton, Mass.) and freshman Kayla Herring (Worcester, Vt.) each added double-doubles for the visitors. Wauneka finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds while Herring scored ten and grabbed ten caroms. Sophomore Brenna Roy (Stafford Springs, Conn.) knocked down a pair of triples on her way to 11 points for the Wildcats.

The game was knotted at 51-51 with 5:40 to go in regulation following a Wauneka jumper before the Lynx answered with an 11-2 to stake an 11-point edge before putting the game away 67-58. A Dimou trey from the top of the key sparked the run that saw five different players score as the Lynx wrapped up their second victory of the season.

Lesley shot the ball at a 44-percent (28-of-63) clip on the night, including knocking down 57-percent (4-of-7) from beyond the arc, while holding Bay Path to just 27-percent (22-of-81) from the floor. Ball movement was the key to success for the Lynx as their 23 total assists was the most in a game since a 71-47 win over Wheelock College on February 16, 2010.

Despite the Wildcats holding a slight 52-49 rebounding edge, the Lynx won the battle down low as they outscored their guests 34-26 in the painted area.

Both teams will conclude their regular season on Saturday. The Lynx will play host to Daniel Webster College at 6:30p while the Wildcats will travel to Elms College for a tilt with the Blazers at 1:00p.
