Marro, Regis Too Much for Women's Basketball

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Regis College junior Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) finished with a game-high 18 points on an efficient 7-of-12 effort from the floor as the Pride stay unbeaten in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) with an 83-34 win over Lesley University tonight at Buckingham, Browne, and Nichols. Marro added seven rebounds and three steals for the Pride, as they move to 14-4 (12-0 NECC) on the season. With the setback, the Lynx fall to 2-17 (2-10 NECC) on the year.

Eleven different players scored for the visitors. Junior Janaya Bradley (New Haven, Conn.) and senior Claire Ramonas (Portland, Me.) joined Marro in double-figures, finishing with 16 and 11 points, respectively. Ramonas registered her first double-double of the season, grabbing a game-high ten boards while shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor. Sophomore Alyssa Vieira-Lanpher (Princeton, Mass.) came off the bench to knock down 3-of-4 from beyond the arc for nine points while classmate Bianca Batallas (Baldwinville, Mass.) chipped in with eight.

Senior Emily Fleming (Medford, Mass.) led the Lynx attack with ten points while pulling down five boards. Sophomore Ari Dimou (Manchester, N.H.) who finished in double-figures in each of Lesley's previous three games, was held to eight points on the night while classmate Jackie Ewing (Hong Kong) came off the bench to dump in seven. Senior Sarah Apgar (Andover, N.J.) led Lesley with six boards to go with her four points.

The Pride shot an impressive 51-percent (33-65) from the field on the night while holding the Lynx to just 24-percent (12-of-50). Regis also held a distinct advantage down low, out-rebounding Lesley by a 49-29 margin and out-scoring the Lynx by a 44-12 mark in the paint.

Eight different players recorded steals for Regis as the Pride forced 25 Lynx turnovers and turned them into 28 points.

Lesley will return to the court on Saturday, February 1st when they head to Bay Path College for a 1:00p tip. The game will be played on the campus of Holyoke Community College. Regis will also be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Elms College at 2:00p.
