Lesley blows out Bay Path for first conference win

LONGMEADOW, Mass. - Lesley University broke out of its recent shooting woes in a big way against Bay Path College.  Lesley University shot a remarkable 85% from three-point land as they blew Bay Path out 87-57 in their first conference win of the year.

Kelly Harrington (Toledo, Ohio) led the explosion with a career high 28 points on 12-13 shooting (3-4 from three-point land).  Courtnie Leakeas (Lowell, Mass.) added 21 points and had a game high 8 assists.  Freshman Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) continued her productive season as she added 10 points of her own.

Bay Path was led by a myriad of scorers and had four players in double-figures.  Chrissy Ordyna, Jessica Hunt, Kristina Anderson, and Kathleen Rodrigue had 16, 14, 12 and 12 points respectively.  Rodrigue had a team high 13 rebounds.

Lesley got off to a real quick start as they led 11-0 less than three minutes into the game.  From there the Lynx continued to pile it on as Harrington led the charge.  Harrington had 21 of the teams 49 points in the first half as she was absolutely unstoppable.  Lesley pushed the first half lead to as many as 27.

Bay Path did not relent though and with 12 minutes remaining in the game Rodrigue hit a lay-up to bring Bay Path to within 13.  However, that was a close as they would get.  With 7:30 remaining Georgia Saltzman (Lynn, Mass.) gave the Lynx as 23 point lead as she nailed 2 free-throws.  That was more than enough as Lesley went on to the 30 point win.

The Lynx are back in action on January 9th when they travel to Elms College.  For more information on the Lesley women's basketball team please go to website.
