Lesley Softball Celebrates Senior Day in DH against NEC

Cambridge, MA- Lesley softball celebrated Senior Day with a conference doubleheader on Saturday against the Pilgrims of NEC. 

 

   

 

Inside Game 1:

  • NEC jumped out to an early lead, scoring twice in the first and once more in the third to make the score 3-0. 
  • A Mahlia Medina single in the third to score Samantha Mecklenburg helped bring the game to 3-1.
  • NEC would open up the game in the next three innings, scoring 7 times over the fourth through the sitxth to push the game to its final score of 10-1. 

 

Inside Game 2:

  • The Pilgrims jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the top of the first. 
  • The Lynx would climb back into the game, as stolen bases by Tara Eldredge and Mecklenburg scored two to go along with a RBI double off the bat of Antonia Kieran to make it 5-3. 
  • The Grims would come right back with 5 more runs over the third and fourth to make it 10-3.
  • A Kieran single would then score Medina to make the game 10-4. 
  • Holly Swinamer would then drive home the fifth run of the game for the Lynx, with Hodgkins scoring on the fielder's choice to make it 10-5. 
  • The seventh saw three more come across to make it 13-5, where it would stand to its final score.

Once again, thank you to our seniors Tara Eldredge and Jess O'Neill for all of your hard work over the past four years. You have helped create a program that was able to reach NECC conference victories along with helping show the way to the next group of players for the program. Best of luck with the upcoming tournament and beyond!

 

Up Next:

The Lynx (3-35, 0-12) will now look on to the NECC conference tournament as the fourth seed. They will be taking on the top seeded ENC Lions Friday, May 5th. First pitch is set for 2pm.
