Day Named to NFCA All Region Third Team

Cambridge, Mass-  The awards continue for Lesley Softball freshman Jordan Day, as she was most recently named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-Region Third Team.  The recognition capped off a stellar freshman campaign for Day, who was also named the New England College Conference (NECC) Softball Rookie of the year, an NECC All-Conference Second Team member, and named the Lesley Athletics Female Rookie of the Year.

Day was a dual threat for the Lynx, helping Lesley to the regular season conference crown, with a 14-2 conference record. The freshman won a league-best 19 games in the circle, which is also 13th in NCAA Division III. She made more appearances than any other pitcher in the league, with 32, and 169.2 innings pitched. Day led the league with 183 strikeouts, while only allowing opponents to bat .217 against her, also tops in the league. Offensively, Day batted .492, good for second in the league, while also tying for the league lead in RBI with 41.

Day was ranked 14th in all of Division III Softball in batting average, and was tied for first as the toughest to strike out with an impressive zero strike outs in 118 at bats.  She broke the single season strike out record at Lesley on April 29 vs Southern Vermont, and ended the season with 183 total strike outs.
