Nashua, N.H. – The Lesley University softball team ended the 2017 regular season on a five-game win-streak with their sweep of Daniel Webster College in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action, Saturday afternoon. The Lynx won both games by identical 13-0 scores.

DWC, which closed its final campaign with an overall record of 5-22 (1-17 NECC), got its final all-time hit appropriately, by its lone senior, Skylar Evans (Cranston, R.I.) who beat out an infield hit to third base with two out in the third inning of game two. DWC managed just two hits in the nightcap as rookie Katelynn Banta (Oakdale, Conn.) added a single to short in the second.

Lesley (18-16, 15-3 NECC), which plays Tuesday in the first round of the NECC tournament, got three hits from Mekenzi Golden (Laguna Niguel, Cal.) who picked up a two-run double as part of a seven-run first, while Theresa Pereira (Hopedale, Mass.) added three hits with four RBI including a two-run double in the second.

Lesley added three runs in the third and three in the fourth as part of a 14-run attack.

Amber Roberts (Berlin, N.H.) took her second loss of the day in the circle as the final pitcher for DWC, while Allyson Nisbet (Clovis, Cal.) got the win (7-8).

In the opener, Eagle second baseman Megan Blongy (Rutland, Vt.) went 3 for 3 to grab three-quarters of the Eagle hits while Danica Nadeau (Monmouth, Maine) added the fourth.

Jordan Raab (Rochester, N.H.) became the final collegiate player to knock one out of Eagle Field with a solo shot to left that led off the third on the way to three RBI. Abby Henderson (Rochester, N.H.) added a two-run double in the fifth and Golden added two RBI.

Lesley played two in the first, three in the second, three in the third and five in the fifth.

Sarah Bushman (Aurora, Colo.) picked up the win in the circle (10-6).
