Softball Tabbed as Favorites in NECC Preseason Poll

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Lesley University has been picked to continue their historic run as they claimed the top slot in the New England Collegiate Conference Preseason Poll after a vote by the league's coaches. The Lynx accumulated six first place tallies and 87 out of a possible 90 total points to take the top ranking in the Preseason Poll for the seventh straight season.

The Lynx will look to continue their dominance in the NECC as they are in pursuit of their seventh straight conference championship and fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Elms College was picked as the second place finisher with 71 points. The Blazers had a 10-8 record in the NECC, finishing 12-16 overall. Elms received a pair of picks for first, second, third, and fifth and a cingle vote for sixth.

Newbury College edged Mitchell College for the third spot. The Nighthawks earned 67 points on a first place ballot, two thirds, five fourths, and a fifth place. Mitchell was selected five times for third, twice fourth places, with one each fifth and eighth place picks.
