CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Five members of the 2013 Lesley University softball team have been recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as All-America Scholar-Athletes. Seniors Sarah Apgar (Andover, N.J.), Nicole Mercurio (Wakefield, Mass.), and Allison Fountain (Cheshire, Conn.) were joined by sophomore Angela Mukai (Amherst, N.H.) and freshman Jackie Homsi (Somerville, Mass.) in the honor released on Thursday morning.

In order to be eligible for the award, student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA or high for the entire academic year.

The Lynx secured their sixth straight New England Collegiate Conference Championship and fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2013 after completing a 21-15 record. 21 wins also marked Lesley's seventh straight year with 20 or more victories in a season.
