For the second time in three weeks, Lesley University freshman Mekenzi Golden (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) has been named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week. Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations, Robb Modica, made the announcement in the conference Weekly Report. Golden blasted her second home run of the year in a loss to Lasell. The three-run round-tripper gives the freshman a conference leading 17 RBI and two home runs while she currently is in second place in the NECC in batting average, hitting a robust .415.

The freshman has continued with her hot bat, picking up hits in both ends of a non-conference doubleheader with Lasell. Golden launched her second home run of the season when she hit a three-run blast in the top of the sixth. She picked up her fourth RBI of the game with a sacrifice-fly in the seventh. In two games on the week, Golden drove in five runs for the Lynx while hitting. 286 at the plate.
