Lynx Set to Kick Off NECC Tournament at UMass.- Boston

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After finishing the year 17-1 in New England Collegiate Conference play, the Lynx have earned the No. 1 seed and will look to secure their fifth consecutive conference championship in the upcoming NECC Championship Tournament.

Lesley will host the double-elimination portion of the bracket at UMass.-Boston starting on Friday, May 3rd.

The Lynx will kick off play on Friday morning as they will square off with the Blazers of Elms College. The Green and Black racked up 22 hits in a two-game sweep over Elms during the regular season with 8-5 and 9-0 wins, respectively.

The bracket was bunched up as four teams finished tied 8-10 in league play. Predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams.

Becker College (20-12, 14-4 NECC) earned the second seed and will play seventh seed Mitchell (11-23, 8-10 NECC) in a first round game on Tuesday, April 30.

Newbury College (18-17, 12-6 NECC) will be the tournament's third seed and will host sixth-seeded Regis College (12-22, 8-10 NECC) while fifth seed Daniel Webster College (13-21, 8-10 NECC) will travel to fourth seed Elms College (10-19, 9-9 NECC) for a first round matchup.

First round games will be played on Tuesday, April 30 at the higher seed. Winners will advance to the double-elimination tournament hosted by Lesley and played at UMass.-Boston.

The top seven teams qualify for the NECC Championship. Game times and dates are subject to change.
