CAMBRIDGE, MA – Lesley University improved to a perfect 10-0 in New England Collegiate Conference play with its eighth and ninth straight wins on Friday, beating visiting Wheelock College 9-0 in Cassandra Knox's second straight home no-hitter and 19-1 in Game 2.

     Knox's (Sea Cliff, NY/North Shore) no-hitter came on 10 strikeouts, three walks and no Lynx errors in her five-inning, complete-game effort. This comes on the heels of the reigning NECC Pitcher of the Week's 50-pitch no-no in her last home start 13 days ago against Becker and moves her to 9-4 on the year.

     Emily Mangiaratti (Amherst, MA/Amherst) scored four runs and stole four bases on the day at the top of the Lynx order, setting the tone at the top of the order for a Lynx lineup that again provided plenty of run support.

     Winners of nine in a row, Lesley improves to 19-6 (10-0 NECC), while Wheelock falls to 4-10 (2-6 NECC).

     Lesley scored three in the bottom of the second, starting with junior Jenna Fralick's (Woburn, MA/Woburn) RBI double that scored Alyson Durben (Stow, MA/Nashoba) and added two more in the inning on a wild pitch and a passed ball to go up 3-0.

     The Lynx scored three more without the benefit of a hit in the third, with Durben driving in Gabrielle Brixey (Coalinga, CA/West Hills CC) on a line drive sac fly to left to make it a 6-0 game, and they posted another three-spot in the fourth for the 9-0 win.

     Lesley posted five runs in consecutive innings to open Game 2, scoring five on six hits in the first, with the big blow being starting pitcher Jennifer Dorval's (Franklin, NH/Franklin) two-run double to left.

     Two scored in the Lynx five-run second on a Durben triple to center, with Lesley's All-NECC centerfielder coming around to score on a throwing error to make it an 8-0 game. After a Durben sac fly to center made it 11-0 in the third, Wheelock got a run back after Nicole Zina (Bristol, RI/Our Lady Fatima) tripled and scored on a Kim Perault (Medford, MA/Medford) groundout.

     Lesley added eight runs on nine singles in the fourth to go ahead 19-1, which would be the final.

     Dorval, now 9-2 on her freshman year, picked up the win, striking out 11, walking only one and letting up only two hits over her five innings.

     Lesley's game at Mitchell has been postponed due to rain, while Wheelock travels to Elms tomorrow.
