Lesley Loses Opener To Ida 2-0
NEWTON, MA – Mount Ida’s Heather Meiester pitched a
complete game, two hit shutout against Lesley University as Mount
Ida College one the first game of the double-header 2-0.
Meiester allowed only three Lynx base-runners all game as she gave
up only two hits, and walked only one on way to the victory.
Christina Anzilloti (Pelham, NY) went the distance for the Lynx in
the lose, pitching 6 innings while allowing just two runs on eight
hits, walking one and striking out one.
Lesley did everything to keep up with Mount Ida defensively as they
played an almost flawless game, committing just one error. However,
Meiester held the Lesley bats in check for the entire game.
Sarah Wilson (Lowell, MA) doubled for the Lynx in the forth and
Maureen Mikos (Fairfield, CT) singled in the second. Lesley could
get nothing going after either of those hits.
Lesley Splits Double-Header With Ida
NEWTON, MA – The Lynx were able to wake their bats up as they
had 11 runs on 13 hits as they defeated Mount Ida 11-1 in the
finale of their double header on Friday.
After getting shutout in the opening game Lesley could not cool
down their bats as they scored in every single inning of the game.
The Lynx got two in the first, three in the second, one in the
third, four in the forth and one in the fifth.
The Lynx were led by Sarah Wilson (Lowell, MA) who went 3-4 with 3
RBI’s. The Lynx also got a pleasant surprise from DP Katie
Bennett (Bartlett, NH) who in her first game as a starter went 3-4
and was awarded the game ball from Coach Benway. Stephanie Amaral
(Seakonk, MA) also added three hits for the links.
Maureen Mikos (Fairfield, CT) improved to 3-1 on the year for the
Lynx. Mikos allowed zero earned runs and gave up just four hits and
walked one in five innings of work.
The Lynx are back in action on Monday, April 3rd when they play
host to Mass. Maritime Academy in a double-header. For more
