Barber, Kolczynski Pace Men's Cross Country at NCAA Regionals

WATERFORD, Conn. – Lesley University senior Ian Barber (Westhampton, Mass.) closed out his cross country career with a strong performance at the NCAA Division III New England Championships hosted today by Connecticut College at Harkness Memorial Park. Barber finished the 8k course in 27:20 to lead the Lynx in the event.

Freshman Gaelon Kolczynski (Yarmouth, Maine) followed Barber and topped his previous personal-best time by an incredible 1:01 and crossed at 30:58. Classmate Leo Saporta (Newton, Mass.) came in nearly a full minute ahead of his time at last week's ECAC Championships in Williamstown, Mass. and finished today's event at 33:26.

Senior Kolin Perry (Reno, Nev.) earned a new personal-best time when he crossed at 35:05, topping his previous mark by 16-seconds. Sophomore Robbie Fisher (Boston, Mass.) finished the day for the Lynx with a strong effort, crossing at 35:30.

Sophomore Kelly Lynch (Topsham, Maine) led the Lynx on the women's side as she turned in a time of 26:05 while freshman Nicole Footer (Lewiston, Maine) trimmed 37-seconds off her time from last week's ECAC 6k as she crossed at 26:24.

Fellow rookie Kimberly Arlen (Manchester, N.H.) also topped her time from last week by 48-seconds as she finished with a time of 27:26 in today's event.

Junior Abbey Coppinger (Moultonborough, N.H.) shaved 1:19 off her ECAC time and came in at 27:31 while Karina Buruca (Cambridge, Mass.) followed at 28:35.

Sophomore Sarah Campisi (Saco, Maine) and junior Sydney Altschuler (Durham, Conn.) wrapped up Lesley's day with times of 28:54 and 28:58, respectively.
