Men's Cross Country Competes at 10th Annual Saints Invite

BOSTON, Mass. – Lesley University senior Ian Barber (Westhampton, Mass.) posted his best time of the season and finished ninth overall in a field of 203 runners as he crossed the finish line at 26:57 to lead the men's cross country team this afternoon at the Saints Invitational hosted by Emmanuel College at Franklin Park.

Freshmen Leo Saporta (Newtown, Mass.) and Gaelon Kolczynski (Yarmouth, Maine) followed Barber with strong races of their own. The rookies each posted personal-best times of 33:05 and 33:42, respectively.

Sophomore Robbie Fisher (Boston, Mass.) came in close behind Kolcynski as crossed at 34:04 while senior Kolin Perry (Reno, Nev.) wrapped things up for the men's team with a 35:38 finish.

The Lynx finished in 13th place out of 22 programs with 425 total points.

On the women's side, sophomore Kelly Lynch (Topsham, Maine) posted a 16th place finish in a field of 201 runners with a time of 21:15. Senior Emilia McGrath (Bowdoin, Maine) was the second Lynx finisher with a time of 22:21.

Freshmen Nicole Footer (Lewiston, Maine) and Kimberly Arlen (Manchester, N.H.) ran strong races as they finished at 22:37 and 22:58, respectively.

Junior Abbey Coppinger (Moultonborough, N.H.) came in at 23:30 while classmate Sydney Altschuler (Durham, Conn.) followed at 24:17. Sophomores Sarah Campisi (Saco, Maine) and Alex Dimauro (Woburn, Mass.) turned in respective times of 24:50 and 27:25.

Senior Rachel Asam (Coeymans Hollow, N.Y.) followed with a time 28:23 to finish the day for the Lynx.

The women's team finished in 8th place out of 22 teams with an overall score of 227.

The Lynx will be off next week before heading to Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass. for the New England Collegiate Conference Championships on October 31st.
