Green Snaps a Pair of LU Records at NCAA Regionals

GORHAM, Me. – Lesley University sophomore Nick Green (Stoughton, Mass.) posted a new Lesley record at the NCAA Regionals this afternoon at the University of Southern Maine. Green, who got tangled with several runners causing him to trip and finish the race with several lacerations, shook off the unfortunate start and posted a time of 26:30.38, the best mark in Lesley program history at the NCAA Regionals and also the best 8k time for a sophomore runner for the Lynx.

Lesley finished in 27th place overall out of 50 teams in the event, posting 854 total points and an average time of 28:03.60.

Lesley senior Andy Scott (Merrimac, Mass.) was the next Lesley runner to cross the line, coming in at 27:37.53 while sophomore Ian Bulger (Westhampton, Mass.) followed at 28:06.89.

Freshman Kilton Webb (Wayne, Me.) continued his vast improvement throughout the course of the year, posting a time of 28:49.17. Webb shaved nearly 50-seconds off his time in the New England Collegiate Conference Championship two weeks ago where he finished in 29:38.09.

Seniors Chris Conforti (Brattleboro, Vt.) and Dillon Simmons (Middleboro, Mass.) came in at 29:14.85 and 29:57.73, respectively, while junior Jordan Church (Garrison, N.Y.) rounded out the Lynx runners with a time of 31:37.44.

Williams College took the title with 77 points and Middlebury College was second with 78, earning automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament. The Lynx will now wait to see if they will receive an at-large bid to compete for the National Championship next weekend in Hanover, Ind.
