Men's Cross Country Heads to USM for NCAA Regionals

The Men's Cross Country will travel to the University of Southern Maine in Gorham, Maine on Saturday to compete for the NCAA New England Regional title.  New England consistently has the most competitive Division III programs, with 7 out of the top 35 ranked teams competing for the a chance at a bid for the National Championships.

The Lynx won their 5th consecutive NECC title two weeks ago, with a very strong performance at Bay Path College.  The men finished with a near perfect score of 16 points, with their top five runners taking first through fourth, and sixth place.

Sophomore Nick Green (Stoughton, MA) led the pack for the Lynx, finishing the 8K course in 27.07.00.  The performance was good enough for the individual title, along with the honor of being named 2013 NECC Runner of the Year.  Ian Barber (Westhampton, Mass.) and Andy Scott (Merrimac, Mass.) also enjoyed great performances at the NECC's finishing shortly being Green to help claim the conference title.

The race will begin 12:30 pm this Saturday, November 16th.  The top two teams in each region will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships, with the remaining slots in the championship field filled by at-large qualifiers.
