Men's Cross Country Has Strong Showing at N.E. Champs

BOSTON, Mass. – The Lesley University men's cross country team ran at the NEICAAA New England Championships this afternoon at Franklin Park. Sophomore Nick Green (Stoughton, Mass.) nearly broke the Lesley course record, currently held by Lynx assistant coach Fran Cusick, but was seven seconds shy as he finished the 8k course in 26:50 to be the top Lesley finisher.

Senior Andrew Scott (Brattleboro, Vt.) crossed the line next for the Lynx coming in at 28:08 while junior Dillon Simmons (Middleboro, Mass.) finished the course in 28:54. Freshman Kilton Webb (Wayne, Me.) and sophomore Ian Barber (Westhampton, Mass.) rounded out the finishers for Lesley, crossing the line in 29:17 and 30:14, respectively.

Freshman Mike Biwott of American International College was the first of the 279 runners to cross as he finished the course in 23:43.

After a week off, the Lynx will seek out their fifth straight New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) on Saturday, October 26th hosted by Bay Path College.
