WESTON, Mass. – The Lesley University men's volleyball team wrapped up their 2016 campaign this afternoon, falling in straight sets to host Regis College in New England Collegiate Conference action. The Pride used set scores of 25-13, 25-10, and 25-21 to notch their second straight win.

Lesley was paced by junior Tyler Burns (Newtown, Pa.) who slammed down a team-high seven kills to go along with six digs on the defensive side. Classmate Jacob DiDomenico (North Providence, R.I.) added four kills and sent back a pair of Regis attacks for a total of two solo blocks. Senior Chris Barletta (Valrico, Fla.) finished with a trio of kills while classmate C.Jay Sutton (Billerica, Mass.) anchored the Lynx defense with nine digs. Freshman Karuna Chiemruom (Cranston, R.I.) dished out a team-high 15 assists.

Regis freshman DJ Lyons (Colorado Springs, Colo.) led all players with 17 kills on a .412 hitting percentage while sophomore Jeff Ramos (Pawtucket, R.I.) added seven. Senior Evan Stone (Stockton, Calif.) finished with five kills and junior Joe Hanrahan (Coventry, R.I.) facilitated the offense with 34 assists. As a team, the Pride were disruptive at the net accumulating 19 total blocks.

The Pride got off to a fast start in set one as Ramos recorded a block and a kill to give Regis a 4-1 lead. The Lynx hung around until Lyons and Brett Krahl (Santa Clarita, Calif.) each posted a pair of kills for a five-point lead before Ramos and Santiago both got in on a block to spearhead a 5-0 run and extend the lead to 18-9.

Set two saw the Pride distance themselves early racing out to a 7-1 lead followed by eight straight points to extend the advantage to 15-3. A Ramos block and kill ended matters as Regis took a commanding 2-0 lead with the 25-10 win.

A Burns kill anchored a 5-3 Lesley run to open the third, but Ramos served the Pride to five straight points as the hosts regained control. Later in the set, Lesley would rally and, after a 4-0 run, tied the score at 15-15. The Pride seemingly regained the momentum, taking a late 21-17 lead, but undaunted, the Lynx rallied to tie the score again at 21-21. That would be as close as the Lynx would get and the Pride closed the door on the set and match with four straight points to capture the win.
