Blazers Sweep Past Men's Volleyball

CHICOPEE, Mass. -- Lesley University fell to host Elms College 3-0 in a New England Collegiate Conference Men's Volleyball matchup tonight at Picknelly Area. The Blazers topped the Lynx with set scores of 25-11, 25-14, 25-19 as they improve to 11-13 overall and 3-6 in NECC play. The loss sets the Lynx back to 0-13 on the year and 0-7 in the conference standings.

Lesley junior Jacob DiDomenico (N. Providence, R.I.) powered the offense for the guests with a season-high seven kills, hitting at a .176 clip while classmate Tyler Burns (Newtown, Pa.) chipped in with five kills and a match- and season-high 11 digs on the defensive end. Senior Chris Barletta (Valrico, Fla.) also finished with five kills and junior Jason Hulteen (Galena, Ohio) added two. Fellow senior C.Jay Sutton (Billerica, Mass.) stepped into setting duties and dished out a career-high 16 assists to go with two kills and four digs.

Blazers sophomore Daniel Bondarovsky (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) led all players with 12 kills and nine digs while senior Angel Castro (Carolina, Puerto Rico) slammed down nine kills to go with eight digs. Rookie setter John Dunphy (Farmington, Conn.) facilitated the offense for the hosts with 22 assists while sophomore Kahlil Peters (Hartford, Conn.) dished out 11. The Blazers hit a combined .351 on the night.

Lesley will return to their home floor and play host to Fontbonne University on Friday night. First serve is set for 8:00p.
