Balanced Effort Carries Endicott Past Men's Volleyball

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University junior Tyler Burns (Newton, Pa.) led all players with nine kills, but it was not enough as host Endicott College used a balanced attack to sweep past the Lynx 3-0 tonight in New England Collegiate Conference Men's Volleyball action. The Gulls used set scores of 25-11, 25-12, 25-11 as they improve to 12-9 on the season and 7-1 in conference play while the Lynx slide to 0-12 on the season and 0-6 in the NECC.

Burns hit .115 on the evening and added six digs and a service ace to his line. Senior C.Jay Sutton (Billerica, Mass.) tied for the match lead with seven digs to lead the Lesley defense and freshman Karuna Chiemruom (Cranston, R.I.) facilitated the offense with 13 assists. Junior Jason Hulteen (Galena, Ohio) added a trio of kills for the Lynx while classmate Jacob DiDomenico (North Providence, R.I.) and sophomore Alex Bonilla-Guevara (Cambridge, Mass.) finished with one kill apiece.

Ten different Gulls knocked down kills for the hosts, paced by seven each from senior Dan Seaver (Milford, Mass.) and junior Ryan Sutherland (Fairport, N.Y.). Senior John Osborne (Freehold, N.J.) added six kills while sophomore Troy Riorden (Fairport, N.Y.) finished with five. Senior Cameron Little (San Diego, Calif.) dished out a match-high 23 assists and freshman Ryan Healy (Fair Lawn, N.J.) anchored the defense with seven digs.

Lesley will return home to Cambridge on Friday night and play host to Fontbonne University at 8:00p at the Nicholas Athletics Center.
