The Lesley University men's volleyball team has been awarded the New England Collegiate Conference Team Sportsmanship Award following the 2013-2014 campaign. NECC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations, Robb Modica, made the announcement today as the postseason awards were announced.
"It is a real honor for us to be recognized by the other teams in the conference," said Lesley head coach Doug Porrell. "We did not have the best season in terms of wins, but I felt we put forth a strong effort every night and were able to compete with our opponents, and did so the right way. I am glad our efforts did not go unnoticed as we continue to improve and build for the future."
This marks the second time the Lynx have garnered the NECC Team Sportsmanship Award, having garnered the honor in 2009 in the first year the conference hosted the sport.
