Men's Track Caps Season at Regis Invite

WESTON, Mass. – The Lesley University men's track team capped their season at the annual Pride Invitational hosted by Regis College.  

Freshman Mike Fleming (Southwick, Mass.) reset his personal-record in the 100-meter for the fourth straight race, crossing the line at 12.15 – 0.02 ahead of his mark from last week. Fleming was done resetting his own records, as he topped his previous best in the long jump with a leap of 5.68m. He also turned in a time of 24.64 in the 200-meter.

Fellow first year Gaelon Kolczynski (Yarmouth, Maine) set a personal-best in the 400-meter and finished fifth place overall with a time of 54.72 while also turning in a top-ten time in the 200-meter with a PR time of 24.45. Kolczynski rounded out the day with a personal-record in the long jump, with a best jump of 5.42m.  

One the women's side, senior Coni Bernales (Santiago, Chile) posted a pair of personal-bests as she claimed a victory in the long jump and finished fourth overall in the 200-meter. Bernales reset her previous program record in the long jump as she leaped 5.07m, topping her former best marker of 5.03m. The senior will jump at the NCAA Division III New England meet at Springfield College this Friday, May 6th.

Bernales also enjoyed a personal-record in the 200m as she cruised to a time of 27.32, beating her previous best time by 0.23.

Sophomore Kelly Lynch (Topsham, Maine) was the top finisher in the 1500-meter as she cruised to a personal-best time of 5:08.53 – the second fastest time in program history. Freshmen Nicole Footer (Lewiston, Maine) and Kimberly Arlen (Manchester, N.H.) both followed Lynx with personal-bests of their own. Both shaved nearly four second off their previous best times in the event as Footer crossed at 5:43.13 while Arlen was on her heels, coming in at 5:43.50.

All three runners also posted personal-bests in the 800-meter. Lynch registered the second best time in program history as she crossed at 2:31.72 while Arlen followed and took six seconds off her PR time and crossed at 2:46.86. Footer finished with a time of 2:53.07, shaving three second off her previous best mark.
