Several Personal-Records Fall for Men's Track at BU

BOSTON, Mass. – All four competitors on Lesley University's men's track team posted personal-best times in each of their respective races as the Lynx enjoyed a strong day at the Scarlet and White Invitational hosted by Boston University.  

Senior Kolin Perry (Reno, Nev.) cruised to a time of 5:39.28 in the one mile before turning in a 2:26.97 result in the 800-meter.

Freshman Gaelon Kolczynski (Yarmouth, Maine) added personal-record times in the 400-meter and 200-meter, coming in at 55.35 and 25.23, respectively.

Fellow freshman Mike Fleming (Cambridge, Mass.) posted a top-30 finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.80 before shaving more than one second off his season-best time in the 200-meter, crossing at 25.08.

Lesley's women's track team also had a strong day with several personal-records broken.

Sophomore Kelly Lynch (Topsham, Maine) won her heat in the one mile posting a time of 5:43. Freshman Kimberly Arlen (Manchester, N.H.) crossed just 0.14 ahead of classmate Nicole Footer (Lewiston, Maine) in the race, registering times of 6:31.25 and 6:31.39, respectively. Junior Sydney Altschuler (Durham, Conn.) finished the event in 7:03.90.

Both Footer and Arlen posted personal-best times in 1000-meter, this time with Footer crossing just ahead with a time of 3:51.77 while Arlen posted a time of 3:52.64.

Lynch also paced the Lynx in the 800-meter, coming in at 2:36.82. Altschuler followed Lynch with a time of 3:13.28 while sophomore Sara Campisi (Saco, Maine) finished at 3:27.26. Campisi also ran well as Lesley's lone competitor in the 500-meter, posting a time of 1:39.31.

Senior Coni Bernales (Santiago, Chile) led the way for the Lynx in sprints, posting an 8.53 time in the 60-meter dash before recording a season-best time of 27.72 in the 200-meter.

Both the men's and women's teams will return to Boston University next Saturday, February 13th as they compete in the annual David Hemery Invitational.
