Strong Opening Performance for Men's Track at Tufts Stampede

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Lesley University men's track team travel to nearby Medford and opened their 2016 season at the annual Tufts University Stampede.

Freshman Gaelon Kolczynski (Yarmouth, Maine) paced the Lynx as he posted an 11th place finish in the 400-meter with a time of 55.65 before turning in a 26.15 time in the 200-meter. Freshman Mike Fleming (Cambridge, Mass.) joined Kolczynski in the 200-meter, crossing at 26.15 while crossing at 7.80 in to 60-meter.

Senior Kolin Perry (Reno, Nev. ) rounded out Lesley's efforts on the day with a time of 2:32.47 in the 800-meter.

On the women's side, sophomore Kelly Lynch (Topsham, Maine) powered the Lynx with an 11th place overall finish in the 1000-meter with a time of 3:26.97. The freshman duo of Nicole Footer (Lewiston, Maine) and Kimberly Arlen (Manchester, N.H.) followed Lynch in the event, turning in respective times of 4:55.33 and 4:00.77 while junior Sydney Altschuler (Durham, Conn.) crossed at 4:07.13.

Sophomore Sarah Campisi (Saco, Maine) was the lone Lesley entrant in the 800-meter as she finished with a time of 3:14.02.

Coni Bernales (Santiago, Chile) turned in a solid day, competing in both the 200-meter and 400-meter. The senior posted a time of 25.50 in the 200m before following with a time of 1:10.29 in the 400-meter.

The Lynx will return to the track next Saturday, February 6th when they travel to Boston University for the Scarlet & White Invitational.
