Lynx Earn First Victory Defeating Albertus Magnus College, 7-2

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior captain Max Anthony (Cambridge, Mass.) won both his singles and doubles matches to lead the Lynx to their first victory of the season knocking off non-conference Albertus Magnus College, 7-2, Saturday afternoon.

The Lynx wasted little time with a straight sweep of doubles. Anthony and his doubles partner first year Evan Flaherty (Scituate, Mass.) made quick work of the Falcons' Bryan Lober and Daniel Pollock in second doubles for the 8-2 win. First year Peter Weiss (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and junior Evan McDermod (Portsmouth, N.H.) sealed the doubles portion of the competition with the 8-4 win in third doubles.

With a commanding 3-0 lead heading into singles, first year Evan Zona (Hingham, Mass.) added to their lead with a two-set victory in fifth singles. Moments later, Anthony battled Lober to a 6-3, 6-2 win in fourth singles to increase the Lynx lead to 5-0 before sophomore Adam Valladares (Middleton, N.H.) had a straight sweep of sixth singles.

Albertus Magnus was able to pull away with two victories taking first and second singles. Junior Daniel Constantinidi was able to get the best of Flaherty in second singles while first year Zach Hart held off a strong comeback attempt by Marcolini in first singles.

Lesley improves to 1-2 on the season Albertus Magnus drops to 0-2. The Lynx return to the courts tomorrow afternoon for a 5:00 p.m. match against Wheelock College.
